What does "Stand-Alone" mean?
No computer is required to make copies of DVD/CDs. Plug it in, turn it on, insert source DVD/CD and up to eleven blank DVD/CDs, select “Copy”, push “RUN” and the DVD/CD Copy Tower starts copying.


How do you make DVD/CD copies?
For the quick copy job, you simply load the DVD or CD to be copied into one of the DVD/CD recorders, load blank discs in the rest of the recorders, select Copy, press RUN and in a few minutes you have 10 exact copies of your source disc. To get the maximum number of copies per run, you read your source disc to the Hard Disk Drive and load blank discs in all 11 recorders. Select Copy and press RUN and in a few minutes you have 11 copies of your source disc. Now you have a source disc stored on the Super Copy Tower Hard Drive for future use.


The 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower contains high speed DVD/CD-Recorders and a CD-ROM mechanism. Since the unit cannot be connected to a computer, does the 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower perform other functions?
Yes, the 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower can be used to make custom CD compilations with the “Edit Track” feature. This track-selecting function can combine tracks from different discs into one single disc. You can extract specific tracks from your source CD to create your own compilation discs.


What copy speeds does the 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower use?
The controller is factory set to auto speed select. When “Copy” is selected, the 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower will select the highest possible copy speed. For example, if you are using DVD media certified for 16x, the controller will select 16x, if the media is 8x, 8x copy speed will be selected. If you have a source disc of questionable quality, or media that is not speed certified, or you want additional assurance of the highest quality music CDs you can adjust both read and write speeds being used by the 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower.


What media can be used in the 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower?
The 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower does not require special media for copy jobs. However, we do not recommend the use of no name bargain media as it causes unnecessary problems in duplication. When making copies at any speed, media appropriately certified for that speed or greater should be used.


Can extended-capacity CDs be copied?
Yes, the 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower will copy up to 700MB/80 minute CDs. Alera Technologies has professional CD duplicator grade certified, 80 minute or 700MB capacity media available for extended-capacity copies.


Can I also connect the 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower to my PC or Mac?
No, the 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower is designed as a stand alone duplicator and the internal mechanisms are not designed to be connected to your computer externally.


The max recording speed of the DVD/CD Copy Tower is 16x, but how fast will it copy DVDs?
A 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower can make up to 11 copies of a typical DVD in 5 to 6 minutes. The actual time to copy the information from a source image on the Hard Drive to up to 11 CD-R blank discs, start to finish, will vary due to the quality of the discs being used, write process initialization tests by the duplicator controller, writing lead in/lead out information, etc.


In the case that the duplicator is having trouble reading a DVD/CD, what can be done?
The first step to take is to go to “Verify” and test the disc and the reading speed. If you are still having trouble, you can place the source disc in any of the DVD/CD-Recorders and try to read it. Any drive can be selected as the source drive using the “Choose Source.” Function.


Before I make copies, I would like to verify the tracks on my source disc. Can I do this on my 1:11 DVD/CD Super Copy Tower?
Yes, go to “Disc Info” on the LCD display. Push “RUN” and the disc information on your source DVD/CD will be displayed.
